KATSANDE TELLS TERRY TO ONLY LEAVE BUCS FOR EUROPE

FORMER Warriors skipper, Willard Katsande, says his countryman, Terrence Dzvukamanja, should only leave Orlando Pirates if he is offered a contract in Europe.

Negotiations for Dzvukamanja to ink a new deal with Pirates are ongoing amid reports he could be heading for a reunion with coach Gavin Hunt at SuperSport United.

And, Katsande has warned Dzvukamanja that he should bear in mind his critics at the club will be waiting to strike again, once he puts his foot wrong.

Katsande revealed to H-Metro what he told the former Ngezi Platinum Stars forward when a sizable portion of the Buccaneers were calling for his head.

“Dzvukamanja went through a lot, I personally struggled to process what I was seeing and reading about him.

“I was like these people don’t have any idea about how good he is and I kept asking myself what are they doing to my man?

“I was constantly reminding him that my brother, let it go and remember you’re not playing for Pirates but you are playing for us (Zimbabweans) and we are all behind you,” said Katsande.

He urged Dzvukamanja to remain consistent.

“I don’t think many could have done what he did at Pirates and it could have ended his career as witnessed from a long list of players who failed to sustain such pressure.

“It’s always tough to impress fans if you are a foreign player because they expect you to be ever green.

“He now needs to carry on from what he delivered towards the end of the season because his critics will reappear once he stops doing what he was doing.”

He added:

“I wouldn’t recommend him to leave Pirates, he now needs to show them what he can do.

“And, I think he should only leave them for a European team but, if not, he should continue with the Buccaneers.”
