Arsenal interested in Mbappe, but Real Madrid frontrunners

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta acknowledges interest in signing Kylian Mbappe but suggests a move to Real Madrid is more likely.

Mbappe informed PSG of his intention to leave this summer, with Real Madrid heavily favored to secure his signature.

“We have to be in the conversation for a player of that caliber,” Arteta stated. “However, it appears to be heading in a different direction.”

PSG manager Luis Enrique declined to comment on the situation, emphasizing that neither Mbappe nor the involved parties have spoken publicly.

While some believe Arsenal lack a prolific goalscorer to challenge for the Premier League title, data suggests Mbappe’s arrival could significantly boost their chances.

According to Twenty First Group, Arsenal’s title probability would increase from 11% to 19% with Mbappe. They also project him to score between 28 and 32 goals next season, potentially becoming the league’s second-best striker behind Erling Haaland.

TFG estimates Mbappe’s transfer fee to be around £117 million with one year remaining on his contract, rising to £150 million with a three-year deal.
