Glen-Norah House Rocked by Gas Explosion, Infant Hurt in Horrific Incident

Residents of Glen-Norah A were left in a state of shock as a powerful explosion tore through a house, leaving destruction in its wake.

The blast, caused by a 3kg gas tank, demolished walls, shattered window panes, and inflicted injuries on a four-day-old infant and two women who suffered severe burns.

The incident unfolded when a gas tank, allegedly ignited in a house where an insect killer had been sprayed, set off a catastrophic chain of events.

The force of the explosion reverberated throughout the area, with the sound heard up to 400 meters away from the scene. The source of the blast was a 3kg gas tank that was lit inside the house, unaware of the danger lurking due to the recently sprayed insect killer.

Eyewitnesses described the terrifying moments leading up to the explosion. According to a witness, Charmaine, a resident of the house, intended to prepare breakfast in the dining room around 11 am.

Unbeknownst to her, the house had been recently treated with an insect killer, and the windows were tightly shut to enhance the spray’s effectiveness. When Charmaine ignited the 3kg gas tank, the flames inadvertently made contact with the lingering insecticide, resulting in a catastrophic explosion.

The blast caused extensive damage to the house, with the roof and walls suffering severe destruction. The impact of the explosion was felt most profoundly by Charmaine, a 19-year-old woman who endured severe burns on her face, chest, and hands. Her aunt and the four-day-old infant also sustained minor burns in the incident.

Immediately after the explosion, emergency services were summoned, and the injured were swiftly transported to the hospital for urgent medical attention. Meanwhile, the incident was promptly reported to the authorities at the Glen Norah Police Station, who have launched an investigation into the matter.
