Off-Duty Cop K!lled For Slapping A Woman Who Refused His Advances

In a shocking turn of events in Enseleni township outside Richards Bay, KwaZulu Natal, a routine encounter took a deadly turn. Constable Mthobisi Msane (30), allegedly an off-duty cop at the time, approached a young woman, making advances and complimenting her. However, the woman rebuffed his advances, leading to a heated exchange.

Witnesses claim that the situation quickly escalated when the young woman swore back at Constable Msane, who, in turn, became agitated and resorted to verbal abuse.

Matters took a horrifying turn when the officer reportedly slapped the woman. Enraged, she fled to her family, who own taxis in the area, to report the incident.

The woman’s brother, described as a known figure in the area, confronted the officer with a knife, threatening violence. Despite warning shots fired by the cop, the confrontation intensified, resulting in the fatal shooting of the brother.

Upon hearing the gunshots, the woman’s mother, a taxi boss, armed herself and engaged in a fatal exchange of gunfire with the officer. In less than 10 minutes, three lives were lost on the streets of Enseleni.

Colonel Robert Netshiunda, spokesperson for KwaZulu Natal police, confirmed the tragic incident. According to him, the off-duty police constable had a dispute with a female companion, resulting in him slapping her.

The situation escalated further when a 55-year-old woman, believed to be the mother of the assaulted woman, arrived at the scene armed with a firearm. A deadly exchange of gunfire ensued, leading to the demise of both the grandmother and the off-duty officer.

The Empangeni police are currently investigating the incident, and while the cause of the initial argument remains undetermined, domestic-related issues are being considered.
