“Belief Takes Hold”: A Look Inside Madzibaba Ishmael’s Cult, Where ‘Canaan’ Called.

H-Metro reports that shortly after his release from prison, Madzibaba Ishmael purportedly created a cult. His followers were invited to take up residence on his farm in Nyabira, according to sources.

“After his arrest, he instructed us to relocate to his farm,” a source claimed.

It is reported that Madzibaba Ishmael informed his followers that the world was on the brink of destruction and labeled their place of residence as ‘Canaan.’

“He claimed that the end of the world was near, and we needed to go to Canaan, where we would remain worshiping,” a source narrated.

Madzibaba Ishmael’s members held a strong belief in him, considering him to be an embodiment of God. As a result, they erected shanties on the farm and participated in agribusiness activities.

As they anticipated the rumored apocalypse, his adherents stopped praying and obeyed his commands.

“We had faith in him, thinking he was God’s messenger. We constructed makeshift shelters and cultivated crops on his farm, with even kids being put to work,” a source revealed.

“These crops were harvested and sold to other farms to generate income. People have stopped praying, believing that the world is ending and we have finally reached Canaan,” the source added.

Disturbingly, cult members were prohibited from possessing any money or worldly possessions.

Furthermore, sources have revealed that underage girls, some as young as 14 to 15 years old, were forced into marriage and children born from these relationships were denied birth certificates and deprived of education opportunities when they reached school-going age.
