Zimbabwean Woman Relocates To US For PhD After Teacher Told Her She Wasn’t Good Enough

A young Zimbabwean lady, Vee Kativhu, expressed her joy on Twitter after being awarded a fully funded scholarship for her PhD studies in the US.

Vee who is a 2X graduate from both Harvard and Oxford Universities is now starting a new academic journey in California, US.

She will be pursuing her PhD in Education Leadership and Policy at the Clermont Graduate University for the next 2 years.

She shared photos on Twitter from the departure gateway, all packed up and ready for her new life in the Western country. Vee mentioned that living in America had always been a dream of hers.

“My dreams are literally coming true right before my eyes and I’m excited for this journey!!” she expressed.

Furthermore, Vee expressed delight at the prospect of becoming an expert in her field through the PhD. Inspiringly, the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

Vee Kativhu fondly remembered a time in her past when a teacher scornfully told her that she was never going to be good enough.

She has worked her best ever since and proved the teacher’s sentiments to be wrong.

“I’m actually going to be a Dr of Education, a PhD holder. An expert in my field. The funny part is a few years ago, my teacher told me I shouldn’t even bother applying to Oxford University for my undergrad because I wasn’t good enough,” she wrote in a Tweet.

Vee Kativhu is a YouTube vlogger and an author. She is a bold Girls’ Education Activist and also a Young Leader at the United Nations.

Vee thanked her fans for all the tremendous support they have given over the years.

“I can’t thank u enough for your support with my YouTube channel, buying my book, booking my services etc! because without it I wouldn’t be able to do most of the stuff I do!” she wrote.

Having already arrived in California, Vee is now a proud homeowner of a 2 bedroom apartment at such a young age.
