While the concert went on, outside the arena were 2 million more people wanting to see the show therefore marking the highest figure till 2024 and also defining his much expensive legacy.

Having battled for and gotten their opportunity, Zimbabwe was not in that frame of mind to pay for hosting the Jamaican artist at the event, so he personally chartered a jet and covered all his expenses to make sure he could be there.

What adds more to the record-breaking event was how a riot soon broke out and mayhem enveloped the atmosphere, with armed guards and security workforce releasing tear gas into the vast crowd.

As the gas reached inside the stadium and onto the stage, everyone except Bob began dispersing.

His bandmates, who had long left the stage, returned after they saw that he wouldn’t leave.

People eventually made their way back into the show.

Reports say the following evening, in an attempt to help control the riots, Bob returned to host another free concert, this time to over 100,000 Zimbabweans. Afrogazette
