Bizarre Incident: Nigerian Man in court for removing neighbour’s scrotum during fight – In Lagos, Nigeria, 33-year-old Dominic Kenneth has appeared before an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court after being charged with causing grievous harm to his neighbour.
The incident reportedly occurred on March 1st, 2019 at No. 1 Abdul Rasaq Street, Balogun area of Ikorodu. The prosecutor, ASP Christian Okonofua, has alleged that Kenneth unlawfully caused this grievous harm to his neighbour and co-shop owner, Mr. Pascal Uche, by allegedly removing one of his scrotums during a fight.
Okonofua stated that this offence goes against Section 245 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. Kenneth has currently pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Defendant Kenneth appeared in Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, March 6th, where he pleaded not guilty to the charge during the hearing. The Magistrate, Mrs. A.O. Onalaja, granted Kenneth bail for the sum of N250,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The case is set to continue on March 14th for mention. This highlighted altercation highlights the threat of interpersonal violence and the potential risk of serious injury or bodily harm which can occur during altercations. These incidents are hoped to be minimized in society with effective and timely recourse to justice and judicial systems, as well as the expeditious resolution of cases.
