Zvishavane’s Housing Revolution: Midlands Park Scheme Leads the Way

ZVISHAVANE – In a groundbreaking development, the Midlands Park housing scheme is nearing completion, poised to revolutionize the lives of over 1,000 families in Zvishavane.

This ambitious project, spearheaded by the government, is a testament to President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s vision to provide affordable and modern housing, recognizing it as a basic need.

Located in Zvishavane town, near Maglass, in the heart of Zimbabwe’s Midlands province, the project involves the construction of 156 residential units and 504 students’ apartments at a cost of US$29 million.

The Public Service Commission, in partnership with the First Mutual Life Assurance Company, is driving the project forward.

The Midlands Park housing scheme is a crucial step in addressing Zimbabwe’s national housing crisis, which has left thousands of citizens in need of decent and affordable housing.

According to local residents, the project has already begun to transform the community. “I am impressed with the current level of development in Zvishavane. Things are changing at a faster speed daily, and I hope that the developmental pace continues on that path,” said Taruvinga Bushe, a local resident.

Midlands Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honourable Owen Ncube, toured the project and emphasized the government’s commitment to providing shelter for all.

“This initiative signifies our dedication to fulfilling the pillar relating to infrastructure and utilities as we journey towards Vision 2030,” he said.

With a target to deliver one million housing units by 2030, the Midlands Park housing scheme plays a vital role in achieving this goal.
