ZRP Investigates Fatal Hit-and-Run Accident, Warns Public Over Dam Wall Bursts in Masvingo – The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) is investigating a fatal hit-and-run road traffic accident that occurred on January 14, 2026, at around 9:40pm along the Kwekwe–Gokwe Road.
According to the police, the accident happened at the 51-kilometre peg when a motorist driving a foreign-registered Nissan NP300 towards Kwekwe struck two pedestrians who had just disembarked from a bus.

One of the pedestrians died on the spot, while the other sustained severe head injuries and was rushed to Kwekwe General Hospital for medical treatment.
The driver did not stop after the accident and fled the scene.
Police are appealing to anyone with information that may lead to the identification and arrest of the motorist to report to their nearest police station.
