Zimbabwe to Experience Dry and Hot Spell Starting November 30
The Meteorological Services Department (MSD) has issued a warning about a dry and hot spell set to affect most parts of Zimbabwe beginning tomorrow, Saturday, November 30.
In a weather advisory released on Thursday, November 29, the MSD stated that the dry conditions are anticipated to last until December 11, 2024, resulting in a significant reduction in rainfall across the nation.
The department explained that the relatively hot and dry weather is attributed to a cool, moist southeasterly airflow entering the region on Friday.
Despite the overall dry forecast, light rain and drizzle are expected in Matabeleland South and Masvingo provinces on Friday.
The MSD noted, “Starting Friday, November 29, 2024, a cool moist southeasterly airflow should reduce the occurrence of thunderstorm activities.” However, it also mentioned that light rain and drizzle are likely in Matabeleland South and Masvingo on Saturday, November 30.
From Sunday, December 1, through the end of the advisory period, the weather is expected to be mostly sunny and hot across the country, although isolated clouds and light showers cannot be completely ruled out.
