Zimbabwe Achieves Historic Milestone With Thousands of Completed Projects

GOKWE – The Zimbabwean government has successfully completed more than 8,000 development projects across the country since the establishment of the Second Republic under President Emmerson Mnangagwa in 2017.

These initiatives span improvements in infrastructure, education, and community empowerment, reinforcing Vision 2030’s commitment to inclusive progress.

During the 45th Independence Day celebrations at Mutora Open Grounds in Nembudziya, Gokwe North, Information, Publicity, and Broadcasting Services Minister Dr. Jenfan Muswere emphasized the significance of these achievements.

He highlighted key developments including the rehabilitation of national roads, the construction of 10,600 dams and digital learning programs.

Notable projects also include the Beitbridge-Harare highway upgrade and educational initiatives such as the E-Learning strategy and the Presidential Internet Scheme, which provide essential resources to schools.

Local leaders and residents have welcomed these developments, noting their transformative effects on communities.

Chief Chireya, a respected traditional leader in the district, expressed gratitude for the government’s commitment to local development, citing the introduction of supermarkets, improved roads, boreholes, clinics and schools as evidence of progress.

War veterans have also acknowledged the government’s recognition of their sacrifices.

Zanu PF Secretary for War Veterans, War Collaborators, Ex-Detainees, and Restrictees, Cde Douglas Mahiya, praised the establishment of the Presidential War Veterans Fund, which addresses welfare needs.

He noted improvements such as better housing provisions and increased respect for veterans at national events.

Zanu PF Midlands Provincial Chairperson Cde Edson Chihengere expressed pride in hosting the Independence Day celebrations, revealing that 1,726 people were employed during the preparations.

Similarly, Minister of Youth Development and Vocational Training, Cde Tino Machakaire, underscored the government’s dedication to youth empowerment through various strategic programs.

According to The Herald, the Independence Day festivities have reinforced the government’s commitment to driving development across Zimbabwe.

In Gokwe North, residents have witnessed significant improvements in infrastructure and employment opportunities, reflecting broader national efforts to uplift communities.
