Zim Comedian Learnmore Jonasi Falls Short in AGT Finale

The quest for the first comedian to win America’s Got Talent (AGT) without a puppet continues, as Zimbabwean comedian Learnmore Jonasi finished in the Top 5 during the Season 19 finale last night.

Singer Richard Goodall emerged as the winner, claiming the $1 million prize amidst fierce competition from nine other finalists.

Hosted by Terry Crews, the show featured a diverse range of acts, all vying for the coveted title.

Jonasi’s journey was remarkable; he earned the Golden Buzzer from Crews during his audition, propelling him to the live shows. His sharp comedic style and dedication made him a standout contestant.

The finale included performances from stars like Simone Biles, Michael Bublé, and Gabriel Iglesias, along with the Detroit Youth Choir. The ten finalists showcased a mix of extraordinary talents, including dance groups, singers, and acrobatic acts.

Though Jonasi did not win, his Top 5 finish has established him as a significant figure in the global comedy scene.

This Friday, he will share insights about his AGT experience and future plans at a roundtable event in Harare.
