ZESA Explains Nationwide Power Outage, Engineers Working to Restore Electricity – HARARE – The Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA) Holdings has confirmed that a nationwide power outage experienced across Zimbabwe on Monday evening was caused by a technical fault on its electricity network.

In a statement issued on Monday, ZESA said the outage occurred at 6:24pm, affecting power supply in different parts of the country.

The power utility said its technical teams immediately began investigating the cause of the fault while engineers were deployed to restore electricity as quickly as possible.

“ZESA Holdings wishes to inform its valued stakeholders of a nationwide power outage that occurred today, Monday 6 July at 1824 hours due to a technical fault on our network,” the utility said.

The company added that restoration efforts were already underway, with engineers working to stabilise the national grid and progressively restore power to affected customers.

“Our technical teams are currently investigating the cause of the outage. Simultaneously, restoration efforts are underway, and our engineers are working to restore grid stability and bring back power in the shortest possible time,” ZESA said.

The utility assured customers that further updates would be provided as restoration work progresses.

ZESA also apologised to households, businesses and other electricity consumers for the disruption caused by the unexpected outage.

“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused,” the power utility said.
