
Zanu PF political commissar Mike Bimha has announced that Zanu PF primary elections which were scheduled for tomorrow have been postponed for “overwhelming response” reason.
This is to give the party’s National Elections Directorate room to process applications from aspiring candidates.
The politburo will meet on Monday to decide on next course.
“What will now happen is that the National Elections Directorate will sit and make its recommendations,” said Martin Bimha.
“Once they do, these are then considered by the Politburo, which has the final say.
“Once the recommendations have been approved, it will be game on.”
Cde Bimha will chair the National Elections Directorate which comprise of secretary for security Cde Lovemore Matuke,secretary for legal affairs Cde Paul Mangwana, ZANU PF treasurer-general Cde Patrick Chinamasa, , secretary for transport and social welfare Cde July Moyo, secretary for women’s affairs Cde Mabel Chinomona, secretary for war veterans Cde Douglas Mahiya and secretary for youth affairs Cde Tino Machakaire.
