ZAMBIA: Woman (26) Dies After Attack by Husband’s Lover – A 26-year-old woman has died in Kitwe, Zambia, after she was allegedly assaulted by a woman believed to be her husband’s lover.
The deceased, identified as Vainess Kanyama of Kapoto Township, reportedly confronted the suspect, Christin Ntundwe, over an alleged affair with her husband.

The incident allegedly occurred on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.
According to the victim’s uncle, Derrick Bwalya, he received a call informing him that his niece had been found unconscious near a market.
Bwalya said he rushed to the scene and found several people gathered around Kanyama.
“I found my niece bleeding from the nose and she was unresponsive and when I attempted to take her to the hospital, I was told that she had already died,” he said.
The matter was subsequently reported to the police.
Bwalya said Kanyama had been living with her husband in the same area before she decided to confront Ntundwe, who also resides in Kapoto.
One of Kanyama’s daughters, who was reportedly with her at the time, allegedly rushed home and alerted relatives after finding her mother unconscious.
The family buried Kanyama on Friday following a post-mortem examination, which reportedly established that she died from blood clots on both sides of the brain.
Bwalya said the family was seeking justice and called on Kanyama’s husband to cooperate with police investigations to help locate the suspect, who is reportedly on the run.
He said:
“The suspect had no right to take away my niece’s life.”
Kanyama leaves behind three children, with the youngest aged five.
Police investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death are reportedly ongoing.
