Zaka Teacher Arrested for Possession of Dagga & Crystal Meth – Police in Zaka have arrested a 47-year-old high school teacher, Shadreck Chitsama, for allegedly possessing dangerous drugs.

According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), Chitsama was arrested on 13 May 2026 for illegal possession of dagga and crystal meth.

Meanwhile, the ZRP has intensified its nationwide crime and traffic awareness campaigns as part of efforts to combat drug and substance abuse and other criminal activities.

A police team led by Assistant Commissioner Chishaka, Assistant Commissioner Dr Singende, and Assistant Commissioner Muchada conducted awareness campaigns at Mutare Polytechnic, Nyamauru High School, and Dangamvura High School on 12 and 13 May 2026.

Police said the programme forms part of the Commissioner-General of Police’s nationwide campaign targeting drug and substance abuse, robbery, murder, stock theft, domestic violence, rape, and other crimes.

“No to crime,” the police said during the awareness initiative.
