Wicknell Chivayo’s Brother Launches Avelion FC as Club Attracts Over 2,600 Players at Trials – Wicknell Chivayo’s younger brother has officially launched a new football club, Avelion FC, marking its entry into Zimbabwe’s football landscape with an overwhelming response from aspiring players.
The club recently conducted open player trials, which attracted a total of 2,631 footballers competing for a place in the inaugural first team.
Avelion FC is expected to begin its campaign in the lower divisions, with long-term ambitions of progressing to the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League (PSL).
In an official statement released by the club, Avelion FC expressed gratitude for the massive turnout and support.
“Avelion FC would like to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who attended and supported our recent trials,” reads the statement.
The club confirmed the unprecedented turnout, stating:
“Total Attendance: 2,631 Players.”
The statement further acknowledged the broader football community’s involvement, adding:
“Your passion, commitment, and belief in the vision of Avelion FC made the trials a historic success. We appreciate every player, parent, guardian, coach, and supporter who took part in this important step toward building the future of our club.”
