‘Married In The Eyes Of God’: Is Georgina Cristiano Ronaldo’s Wife?

Spanish model and influencer Georgina Rodriguez hinted at being married to her “baby daddy” Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo on the second season of her Netflix reality series I Am Georgina, which released on Friday 24 March.

On the second season of I Am Georgina, the model hinted that she is already married to footballer Cristiano Ronaldo. However, she noted that they did not officially tie the knot with a ceremony as yet.

“I really couldn’t be more married. Cristiano and I are married in the eyes of God, that’s all that matters to me,” she said.

“He protects us and keeps us together. One day though, a ceremony will follow,” she continued.

This comes after the pair’s move to Saudi Arabia earlier this year, where they were believed to be potentially breaking the law. This is because they live together, have two children together and are unmarried. Under the laws in Saudi Arabia, it is illegal to be living in the same house as someone without being married.

According to Indian Express, they were not expected to be punished by authorities.

“Although the laws still prohibit cohabitation without a marriage contract, the authorities have begun to turn a blind eye and do not persecute anyone. Of course, these laws are used when there is a problem or a crime,” said a Saudi lawyer according to the publication.

“The Saudi Arabian authorities, today, do not interfere in this matter [in the case of foreigners], but the law continues to prohibit cohabitation outside of marriage,” added the other,” said another lawyer according to the publication.

This comes after reports of Ronaldo and Georgina postponing their wedding after the pair allegedly hit a rough patch in their relationship.

Journalist Gonzalo Vazquez reported that the wedding that was planned is on standby after the World Cup.

“The recent disappointment of the player in the World Cup in Qatar with the Portuguese national team may have triggered a crisis and the wedding they had planned is on ‘standby,” reported journalist Gonzalo Vazquez.
