UPDATE: Suspect Arrested After Stolen Kombi Spotted in Mutorashanga

UPDATE: Suspect Arrested After Stolen Kombi Spotted in Mutorashanga – There has been a major breakthrough in the case involving a missing commuter omnibus, after suspect More Nzindira was tracked down and arrested.
According to an update, the suspect is now in police custody following a tip-off from a vigilant member of the public who recognised the kombi after the story circulated online.
“I saw the post and immediately recognised the kombi. It was operating here in Mutorashanga as a mushika-shika, so I alerted the owner,” said the tipster.

The information was quickly relayed to the vehicle owner, who wasted no time in notifying the CID.
“As soon as I received the information, I contacted the CID, and they acted very fast. I’m grateful for the support I received,” the owner said.
Detectives swiftly moved in, tracked the vehicle, and arrested Nzindira. Authorities confirmed that he is now in custody, with investigations ongoing.
This follows an earlier report in which the owner detailed how Nzindira, a man from Guruve, had been hired on a trial basis on 15 April to operate a white Toyota Hiace kombi (registration number AGL 9695).
On 19 April, he reportedly carried passengers from White House to the Harare CBD as usual. However, after being left alone with the vehicle around midday, he later became unreachable.
“He kept assuring me everything was fine, but later his phone went off, and that was the last time I heard from him,” the owner explained.
By evening, the vehicle had not been returned, prompting a search and eventual public appeal for assistance.
“This has been a stressful experience, but I’m relieved the vehicle has been recovered and the suspect is in custody,” the owner added.
