UK-Based Ghanaian Nurse Dies In His Sleep While Resting for Night Shift -The family and friends of Richmond Mensah, a 33-year-old nurse who died suddenly in the United Kingdom, has dismissed social media claims alleging that he was Zimbabwean.
Richmond, who lived in Prescot, Merseyside, with his wife Maybel Sagoe and their 14-month-old daughter, was originally from Ghana.
Family sources have clarified that reports circulating online suggesting he was Zimbabwean are false.

According to his widow, Richmond was preparing for his night shift on Friday, February 6, when the tragic incident occurred. He had decided to take a short nap before work and set his alarm for 5:45pm.
“He said he was going to put his phone on charge. When I first checked on him, he was sleeping. Later, when the alarm went off, he wasn’t responding. That’s when I called emergency services,” Maybel said.An ambulance rushed him to hospital, but he sadly passed away shortly after arrival.
The cause of death is yet to be confirmed. Maybel said the loss came as a shock, describing her husband as fit and healthy, with no prior complaints of illness.
Tributes have continued to pour in from friends, colleagues and members of the public, many expressing heartbreak over the sudden loss.Richmond and Maybel met in Ghana before relocating to the UK.
The family is planning a memorial service in Merseyside, while burial arrangements are expected to take place in Ghana.
A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to assist with funeral and memorial costs, and thousands of pounds have already been raised towards the target.
