Two-Year-Old Girl Dies After Being Attacked by Four Dogs Owned by Her Stepfather

A two-year-old girl, Tanaka Dube, tragically lost her life after being attacked by four dogs while walking with her mother.
The incident took place in the Douglasdale suburb on February 28 around 10 AM.
At the time of the attack, the girl’s stepfather was inside their yard feeding the dogs. The animals jumped over the fence and attacked Tanaka as she walked with her 31-year-old mother.
According to police, Tanaka suffered severe injuries including wounds to her scalp, behind her ears, and on both legs.
She was quickly taken to Mpilo Hospital but sadly later died from her injuries. Bulawayo police expressed their condolences to the family.
In response to the attack, authorities are urging dog owners, especially those with large or aggressive breeds, to take necessary precautions to secure their properties.
Police are investigating the incident and charges may be filed against the dog’s owner.
This tragic event highlights an alarming trend in Zimbabwe, where dog attacks are becoming increasingly frequent.
Health officials reported over 20,000 dog bite cases last year, with children being the most affected.
