Thousands Expected as Dorcas Moyo Unveils”Mugeri Tsvatu” in Manicaland Spectacle

Gospel music fans are in for a powerful experience as Dorcas Moyo prepares to launch her new album, Mugeri Tsvatu, at the Manicaland Showgrounds on 6 September.
An event expected to attract thousands and showcase one of the strongest line-ups to grace the local stage this year.
The concert is set to draw over 5,000 fans and bring together top names across Zimbabwe’s musical landscape.
The line-up includes sungura legend Alick Macheso, gospel pioneers Mai Charamba and Blessing Shumba, hitmakers Leonard Zhakata and Sulumani Chimbetu, Afro-jazz favourite Mbeu and popular comedian Madam Boss.
Moyo said preparations are in full swing, with overwhelming support from artistes and fans.
“We’re working around the clock to deliver something unforgettable—not just in Manicaland, but nationally. This is a celebration of music, faith and unity,” she said.
The launch will showcase tracks such as Wodalitsika, Kazevezeve, Jerusalem, and the title track Mugeri Tsvatu. The album builds on Moyo’s exploration of spirituality, culture and identity—following previous works like Mhanza Haisekwi and Bvudzi Rangu Ramera.
Several music videos are already in post-production, with others in the final planning stages. Although the full track list is still being finalised, the central themes are rooted in healing, reflection and celebration.
Moyo told Youth Village that assembling the diverse line-up was made possible through years of collaboration and mutual respect.
“We’ve nurtured strong relationships over time, and this launch is about more than music—it’s about unity. Music speaks to all of us, no matter who we are,” she said.
Also on the bill are gospel stalwarts Mathias Mhere, King David and social commentator Hosiah Chipanga—offering a blend of traditional and contemporary performance styles.
Moyo has carved out a reputation for combining scripture, storytelling and modern sound. Her previous albums, including PaMarah Tapfuura and Bvisai Marara, received acclaim for their lyrical depth and wide appeal.
With anticipation already building, the 6 September event is shaping up to be more than just an album launch—it’s poised to be a milestone celebration of music, meaning and faith.
All eyes now turn to the Manicaland Showgrounds, where message and melody will meet centre stage.
