Thieves left in the dust :Court orders five stolen cars to be handed over to the State
The High Court in Harare has ordered the handover of five vehicles to the State, seized from Carrington Mutevera, Robson Kamanga and Vladmir Mupamombe, who were convicted of theft of motor vehicles.
The court made the order after the Prosecutor General successfully applied for the handover of the vehicles which were seized in 2021.
According to court papers, the three accused were arrested by police detectives in 2021 and led to the recovery of 11 motor vehicles. Six of the vehicles were positively identified by their lawful owners, while the remaining five had their chassis numbers tampered with.
The vehicle which include two Toyota ISTs, a Toyota Allion, a Toyota Corolla and an Isuzu KB2800, will now be registered as State property.
