Teachers Who Beat Disabled Student on School Trip Arrested

Teachers Who Beat Disabled Student on School Trip Arrested – Two teachers caught on camera violently assa@ulting a disabled student have been arrested and are currently detained at Waterfalls Police Station.
They are expected to appear in court tomorrow, as investigations into the disturbing incident intensify.
The case has drawn national attention, with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education confirming that a team has been dispatched to investigate the matter. Authorities are working to verify the viral video, identify all those involved, and determine whether the school trip was properly authorised.
The victim, a Form 2 student from First Choice Private School in Waterfalls who has a leg disability, was allegedly attacked during a return trip from Macheke. Reports indicate that the incident began as a minor verbal exchange between students on the overcrowded bus, but escalated after teachers intervened.
Instead of resolving the situation, the teachers allegedly turned on the student, taking turns to assault him repeatedly in full view of other pupils.
The student reportedly suffered a bleeding nose and severe headaches following the attack.
Further details suggest the student was being punished for allegedly using inappropriate language.
However, officials have condemned the level of force used, describing it as excessive, inhumane, and a clear violation of regulations governing discipline in schools.
One of the teachers involved has been identified as Manyehwe, while unverified claims have also emerged suggesting that some teachers on the bus may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
Ministry spokesperson Taungana Ndoro strongly condemned the attack, urging the victim’s family and witnesses to report the matter to the police, noting that the actions may constitute a criminal offence.
The shocking incident has reignited debate over corporal punishment in Zimbabwe’s education system, with many calling for stricter enforcement of laws to protect students from abuse.
