Teacher Accused of Lifting Girls’ Skirts and Masturbating in Class
A teacher at a school in Daveyton, Ekurhuleni has been accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting female students since 2018.
The teacher, who has since been transferred to the district office, allegedly lined up his female students and lifted up their skirts to look under them.
The students claim that boys were not excluded from this abusive behavior, and some were even made to show the teacher their private parts.
The teacher would then allegedly masturbate right in front of the students. A short video that went viral is said to show the teacher sitting with female students passing by for him to check under their skirts.
The students reported the teacher’s actions to some school staff, but no action was taken. One student said, “It was like part of the curriculum, and we were left traumatised every day.”
On August 12th, angry parents protested outside the school, demanding the teacher’s removal. This prompted district officials to intervene, and the teacher was escorted out of the school that same day.
One parent expressed relief, saying, “It was painful for me, as a mum, to always hear my daughter report what the teacher did to them on a daily basis. We’re relieved that he’s been removed from the school.”
The students also claimed that the teacher smoked marijuana and would threaten them, saying “what we do here, ends here,” if they reported him.
The Gauteng Department of Education has launched an investigation, and the teacher has been transferred to the district office pending further action.
