Talent Moyo Fit for Trial — No More Dodging After US$150 Street Snatch
BULAWAYO — Flamboyant social media influencer Talent Moyo has been declared mentally fit by two State doctors, clearing the way for his trial to begin on October 13 over allegations he snatched US$150 from a businesswoman in the city centre.
The 27-year-old appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Takudzwa Gwazemba for routine remand, where the medical report confirming his sanity was officially submitted.
With his mental health no longer in question, the court ordered him back into custody pending trial.
The arrest stems from a September 11 incident in Bulawayo’s CBD, where Moyo allegedly shoved his hands into the pockets of Value Chivange, 38, of Lobengula West, and fled with her cash along 6th Avenue near Jason Moyo Street.
“The accused unlawfully took US$150 belonging to the complainant with the intent to permanently deprive her of her money,” reads the State outline.
The stolen money was never recovered.
Despite the seriousness of the charge, Moyo appeared relaxed in court, flashing his trademark grin at fans who had gathered to witness the proceedings.
His carefree behaviour sparked initial doubts about his mental stability, prompting the magistrate to order psychiatric evaluation before the case could proceed.
The arrest triggered a social media firestorm, with public opinion sharply divided.
Some users condemned Moyo’s conduct, citing his history of disruptive stunts and troubling encounters with women.
“Talent is a nuisance. The way he harasses women in town is unacceptable. He needs help or jail time,” one angry Facebook user posted.
Another supporter countered: “He is just misunderstood. He loves attention, but he is not a thief.”
H-Metro reports that Moyo’s antics have long drawn mixed reactions, with some praising his boldness and others calling for accountability.
For many, this trial is not just about theft — it’s about drawing the line between entertainment and criminal behaviour.
With the medical verdict now in, Moyo’s fate rests with the courts.
The spotlight is on whether his attention-seeking persona finally catches up with him or if he walks free once again.
