The Commission’s Board expressed gratitude for Nengomasha’s contribution, citing her role in “strengthening governance structures and stakeholder engagement across the sporting sector.”
To ensure continuity, the SRC appointed Peter Mudzimiri, the Director of Legal and Corporate Services, as Acting Director-General with immediate effect.
Nengomasha’s departure comes just two months after she was reinstated from suspension over allegations of misconduct a development that stirred debate in the sporting fraternity.
The SRC further noted that the process to appoint a substantive Director-General will be announced in due course, stressing that “the Board and management remain fully committed to the SRC’s mandate of promoting and regulating sport and recreation in Zimbabwe.”
