Senior Teacher Dumps Wife of 37 Years for Former Student – A 37-year marriage has collapsed after a senior teacher allegedly left his matrimonial home to live with a woman who was once his student, triggering controversy and court battles in Muzvezve Constituency.
According to The Herald, Calisto Marezva (62), a senior teacher with 43 years of experience at Donain Secondary School, reportedly abandoned his wife, Diana Dorothea Gundu, in January last year.
The couple, who were married under the Marriage Act, have three children and seven grandchildren.

Mr Marezva is now living with Lillian Komboni, his former student, who runs a bar at Donain Shopping Centre. The two are reportedly staying at the same business complex.
The relationship has sparked tension, leading to several confrontations between Mrs Gundu and Ms Komboni. The disputes have resulted in multiple court appearances involving peace orders and allegations of cyberbullying.
In late 2025, Mrs Gundu filed a claim for adultery damages amounting to US$50,000 against Ms Komboni under case number NO46/25.
Court documents indicate that Ms Komboni was formally served with summons instructing her to respond to the claim or risk a default judgment being granted against her.
The documents state that failure to enter an appearance to defend within the prescribed time frame would result in the matter being heard in her absence.
A second notice was reportedly served on January 14 this year, giving Ms Komboni five days to file her response.
The matter remains before the courts.
