Security Guard Awarded $20 After Returning US$3,500 Lost Cash – A security guard in Masvingo has been praised for his honesty after reportedly returning a lost purse containing more than US$3,500 and receiving only US$20 as a reward.
The guard allegedly discovered the purse during a night patrol near a car park.
Inside the purse were US$3,523 and R800 in cash.

Instead of keeping the money, the guard reportedly secured it overnight before ensuring it was safely returned to its owner the following morning.
The owner later recovered the purse with all the money intact and allegedly rewarded the guard with US$20.
The incident has since sparked debate on social media, with many commending the guard’s integrity despite the modest reward.
Some social media users argued that he deserved a far larger reward considering the amount of money he returned, while others praised his honesty and moral character.
