Public Reprimand Over Vulgar Language Led to Fatal Stabbing — ZRP

LOWER GWERU — The Zimbabwe Republic Police have arrested a 28‑year‑old man in connection with a fatal stabbing in Mabhena Village, near Mabandla Business Centre, on 12 August 2025.

Police identified the suspect as David Musani Moyo, who allegedly stabbed a man once in the chest with a knife following a confrontation.

According to investigators, the altercation began when the victim reprimanded Moyo for shouting vulgar language in public.

In a statement, police said:

“The ZRP confirms the arrest of David Musani Moyo (28) in connection with a murder case which occurred at Mabhena Village near Mabandla Business Centre, Lower Gweru, on 12/08/25.

“The suspect allegedly stabbed the victim once on the chest with a knife after the victim had tried to reprimand the suspect who was shouting vulgar words.”

The victim’s identity has not yet been released.

Police say Moyo remains in custody while investigations continue.
