PSG Smash Inter 5-0 to Win First UCL Title – Doue Shines, Enrique Weeps

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) demolished Inter Milan 5-0 in Munich to claim their first-ever UEFA Champions League title and they did it with style, youth, and emotion.

Teenage sensation Desire Doue, 19, delivered a performance for the ages, scoring twice and assisting another to become the youngest player ever to bag a brace in a Champions League final, overtaking Eusébio’s 1962 record.

“It’s a dream,” said Doue. “I just wanted to give everything. This is for Paris.”

PSG’s dominance was total from the first whistle. Achraf Hakimi opened the scoring from a Doue assist in the 12th minute.

According to BBC, Doue added two goals before being subbed off to a standing ovation. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and 19-year-old Senny Mayulu piled on further humiliation for Inter in the second half.

But the night belonged just as much to Luis Enrique, who became only the sixth manager to win the UCL with two clubs, following his 2015 triumph with Barcelona.

Visibly emotional, Enrique donned a shirt bearing an image of himself and his late daughter Xana planting a PSG flag.

“I always think about my daughter,” he said.

“This is more than football. Paris had never won it we did it, finally.”

PSG’s campaign was a gauntlet: knocking out Manchester City, Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Arsenal.

Gone are the days of flashy names and big egos. This is Enrique’s young, hungry PSG and it works.

“This is the best season ever,” PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi told CBS.

“We were criticised a lot. But we believed in our plan. This is just the beginning.”

With a record-breaking five-goal margin in a Champions League final and a generational talent in Doue, PSG’s future has never looked brighter.
