Pregnant Malloti Faces Backlash Over Alleged Dru_g Use During Podcast Launch

Pregnant Malloti Faces Backlash Over Alleged Drug Use During Podcast Launch – Controversial socialite-turned-podcaster Malloti has once again found herself at the centre of a storm after a video went viral showing her allegedly consuming BronCleer syrup—commonly referred to as “Bronco”—during the chaotic launch of her new podcast.
In the sh0cking video clip, Malloti is seen hurling profanities while launching her show before taking a swig from a bottle many believe contains the infamous cough syrup.
Though its contents remain unverified, the footage has sparked national debate over the glamorisation of dr_ug abuse in Zimbabwe’s entertainment circles.
Chivayo Associate Calls for Malloti’s Arrest
Leading the charge against Malloti is outspoken social media personality Tino Chakachaya, a known associate of businessman Wicknell Chivayo.

In a strongly worded post on X (formerly Twitter), Chakachaya lambasted Malloti for what he called “reckless and dangerous conduct” that glorifies dr_ug culture among Zimbabwean youth.
“This nonsense must stop! You’re not a celebrity if you’re out here encouraging kids to sip poison on camera. Malloti must be arrested and made an example of. This isn’t ‘content’—this is a crisis. President Mnangagwa is fighting drug abuse, but people like her are undoing that work. ZRP, how long are you going to wait?” Chakachaya posted. #FixTheNation #StopDrugAbuse #ZRPActNow
Social Media Erupts: Mixed Reactions to Viral Clip
While many Zimbabweans rallied behind Chakachaya’s call for accountability, others pointed to deeper issues within society.
Several users suggested that, unless the actual contents of the bottle are verified, legal action may be difficult.
Below are some reactions from X:
@Miss_KudaZim
“She has crossed the line. These are influencers? Our children deserve better.”
@ZimVoiceUnheard
“Let’s be honest—Bronco is everywhere. She’s just the one who got caught on camera. Where are the parents? Where is the government?”
@Tash_Mutasa
“It’s disturbing, yes. But unless they prove it’s Bronco in that bottle, the courts can’t do anything. ZRP might arrest, but it won’t stick.”
@RealMhofu77
“Some of these ‘skits’ are pushing dangerous agendas. This is not art; it’s destruction packaged as entertainment.”
Legal Gray Area: Can Malloti Be Prosecuted?
Legal experts commenting anonymously say the case presents complications. “Even if public sentiment is strong, prosecutors would need to prove the substance in that bottle is illegal. Right now, it’s speculation.”
ZRP has not yet released an official statement on the incident, despite growing public calls for an investigation.
