According to reports, the chicken ran into the path of the vehicle and was struck.

The poultry owner reportedly demanded compensation, arguing that the motorist was responsible for the loss.

However, the driver accused the poultry owner of negligence, arguing that the birds should have been properly secured to prevent them from wandering onto the road.
