Police Officer on the Run After Brutally K!lling Ruwa Man

Police Officer on the Run After Brutally K!lling Ruwa Man — Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) officer, Constable Prince Ndavambi, is on the run after allegedly flogging 30-year-old Blessed Believe Juruvenge to d£ath while in custody.

The horrifying incident occurred on May 27, 2025, following Juruvenge’s arrest over a neighbourhood altercation.

The young man’s life was brutally cut short inside Ruwa Police Station, and chilling reports indicate that before the b£ating, Ndavambi allegedly told Juruvenge, “You will leave here in a coffin.”

That cruel prophecy came true.

Now, nearly two weeks later, Ndavambi has vanished—his arrest still pending, despite orders from police top brass.

The deceased’s sister, Mellisa Manyepa, who was also allegedly ass@ulted by the same officer for “harbouring a suspect,” said attempts to reach Ndavambi have been futile as reported by New Zimbabwe.

“He even posts WhatsApp statuses, but his phone blocks my calls,” she revealed.

Despite clear directives from ZRP Commissioner-General Stephen Mutamba that the law must take its course, the delay in arrest has left the grieving family frustrated and distrustful of the system.

As legal processes stall, the burial of Juruvenge hangs in limbo.

The family is divided—some want to proceed with funeral arrangements, while others fear it could dilute the pursuit of justice.

Two official autopsies have been conducted, but the family has been encouraged to seek a third opinion from an independent pathologist if they doubt the findings.

Meanwhile, Juruvenge’s heavily pregnant wife, Mercy Madenyika, faces an uncertain future without her husband.

The couple, who ran a small tuckshop, had been eagerly preparing for their first child. Now, Mercy’s dreams are shattered.

“I can’t believe he’s gone. He never even got to hold our baby,” said Mercy, holding back tears.

“We had plans… now I don’t know how I will survive, let alone raise this child alone.”

The tragedy has also devastated the deceased’s mother, Elipa Jimu, who now bears the unexpected responsibility of supporting her pregnant daughter-in-law.

“Blessed was supposed to bury me, not the other way around,” she said, weeping. “We don’t even have money for the funeral, let alone for the baby’s arrival.”

Neighbour and friend Taurayi Chiedziso echoed the community’s grief, lamenting how a simple neighbourhood dispute spiralled into a fatal act of police brutality.

“This could’ve been resolved as neighbours. Now a life is lost, a child will grow up without a father—it’s senseless.”
