Paul Pogba Reveals Wife Abandoned Him After Doping Ban

Paul Pogba Reveals Wife Abandoned Him After Doping Ban – Football star Paul Pogba has emotionally revealed that his wife left him in the aftermath of his doping scandal, compounding what he describes as the most painful chapter of his life.
The 32-year-old midfielder said the moment his football career was halted, his personal life unraveled just as quickly.
“Even my wife distanced herself—and that still breaks me,” Pogba confessed in a heartfelt interview. “The moment I stopped being ‘Pogba the superstar,’ people vanished.”
The former Manchester United and Juventus player tested positive for dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), a banned substance that boosts testosterone, after a random drug test following Juventus’ opening match of the 2023–24 season.

Initially handed a four-year suspension, his ban was later reduced to 18 months in October 2024 after an appeal.
Pogba said the suspension made him realize how fragile fame can be.
Invitations stopped, endorsements disappeared, and even close relationships collapsed.
“My phone went quiet. Fashion shows, business calls—all gone. Honestly, I’ve made peace with it. That’s life. Sometimes it’s in losing everything that you see what really matters.”
In its final ruling, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) confirmed that Pogba had unknowingly ingested DHEA.
Although the substance mostly affects females, it is still banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
After mutually terminating his contract with Juventus in November, Pogba returned to competitive football in March 2025 and, in June, signed a two-year deal with AS Monaco.
Fighting back tears during the signing, he thanked the club for their trust and vowed to rise again, calling this new chapter “La renaissance.”
Despite his struggles, Pogba’s legacy remains significant. With 91 caps for France, a 2018 World Cup title, and major club achievements including a Europa League win with Manchester United and four Serie A titles with Juventus, he now looks to rebuild both his career and personal life from the ground up.
