Parents Face-Off In School Parking Lot, One Pulls Out A Gun

The founding director of Chido Chevasikana, Chido Chidziva was shocked after a fellow parent with ‘deactived humour’ pulled a gun on her while they were picking up their kids.

This happened yesterday after the stranger at a local school which her daughter learn at failed to digest a joke she had pulled.

He then silenced her with a gun in front of her daughter.

The former ZBC TV presenter took the complain on her twitter page.

Nicknamed @miss_rockshay, the compainant had this to say;

“You can’t believe what happened today.  I went to pick my daughter from school then whilst in the queue waiting this other parent overtakes me. When I got to the school I parked behind him and jokingly said “mambopindira motokumbira kubuda.” Guess what the guy took out a gun. In front of my daughter. I was soo shocked. He said “taurai futi”putting it in his pocket. I was soo shocked shuwa mu Zimbabwe muno vanhu vakuita zvavanoda. Zero respect of the law. I mhosva here or it’s allowed. I feel soo unsettled.”

This incident reveal how more people are carrying firearms.

Records show that most of the firearms are being acquired illegally, an increase in armed robberies being evident.

According to Zimbabwe’s Firearms Control Act, having a firearm licence is not a licence to use the gun anyhow and anywhere.

Guns are used by civilians for protection of private property, personal security, self-defence, hunting, sport, hobbies and other approved uses.

Reasons like showing off, impressing friends and lovers and intimidating other people are not valid  for owning a gun.
