Nigerian student hospitalized after washing hands for 58-hour to break record

A student of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in Osun State, Subair Enitan, has landed in the hospital following an ambitious attempt to break the Guinness World Records in a handwashing marathon.

Enitan concluded the marathon in the early hours of Monday, surpassing her initial plan of 50 hours as reported by the official X handle for the marathon.

According to the marathon’s official post, Enitan endured a staggering 58 hours of continuous handwashing.

This feat was aimed at securing a place in the Guinness World Records, showcasing her determination to surpass existing limits.

However, the toll of such an extended endeavour became evident as Enitan’s hands turned white and wrinkled, evident from a video circulating on social media.

Despite the extended duration, the Guinness World Records has not officially recognised Enitan as a new record breaker.

The confirmation of this achievement is eagerly awaited, adding a layer of suspense to the aftermath of the marathon.

Enitan’s ambitious effort has caught the attention of the public, generating discussions about the physical toll of attempting such feats.

As the video continues to circulate, Enitan’s current condition says it all as she lies on a hospital bed. Agencies
