Mysterious Students’ Behaviour Forces Closure of Zhomba High School

GOKWE -Zhomba High School in Gokwe North has been temporarily shut down after reports of unusual incidents affecting students.

Authorities, along with the school’s administration, are investigating claims of bizarre behaviour displayed by several learners earlier this week.

The disturbances reportedly began on Monday with a single student but have since escalated to eight learners exhibiting strange and unexplainable actions.

The school headmaster, Mr. Washington Chikunichawa, emphasized the severity of the situation. “I had to send the students home due to their unusual behaviour”.

Local leaders, including traditional chiefs, are engaged in ongoing deliberations to discuss possible solutions.

This is not the first time schools in the Gokwe region have encountered unexplained phenomena.

As previously reported by The Herald, Zhomba High School has a history of peculiar incidents. In 2022, a whirlwind reportedly carried away an exam answer sheet, which was found approximately 500 meters from the classroom.

Likewise, in 2021, Mbungo Secondary School in Gokwe South suspended lessons after widespread hysteria among students caused violent outbursts.

Parents and community members anxiously await updates, hoping for a resolution to the disturbances.
