MSD Monitoring Tropical Storm Cheneso

THE Meteorological Services Department (MSD) says it is monitoring moderate tropical storm Cheneso, which made landfall in Madagascar on Thursday.

It has since caused heavy rains in the island country.  As at Thursday evening, MSD said the tropical storm was 1 800km from Zimbabwe’s eastern border.  “The Meteorological Services Department is currently monitoring and it will update the public on its movement.

“Depending on their position, tropical storms may cause dry spells or heavy rains or have no effect in Zimbabwe,” said MSD in a statement.
