Sources at Milton High allege that Lunga targeted mostly younger students—particularly Form One and Form Two learners—and that he used food items and money to silence his victims.

To date, nine students have reportedly come forward with complaints, though there are fears the number of victims may be significantly higher.
According to school insiders, Lunga previously resided in Pioneer Hostel, which houses many of the school’s younger students.
It is alleged that his proximity to these learners facilitated the misconduct.
The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has confirmed Lunga’s suspension and arr£st.
Spokesperson Mr. Taungana Ndoro described the allegations as “extremely serious” and emphasized the Ministry’s zero-tolerance approach toward such behavior.
“We are taking this matter with the utmost gravity,” said Mr. Ndoro.
“The teacher has been suspended from duty and is assisting law enforcement with ongoing investigations. Our main priority is the safety and well-being of all learners.”
Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Nomalanga Msebele also confirmed the arrest but declined to provide further details, citing the sensitivity of the case.
The allegations reportedly came to light after Upper Six students refused to attend Lunga’s classes, citing concerns over his behavior.
This act of protest reportedly encouraged several younger students to speak up.
There is also concern surrounding Lunga’s previous transfer from Magwegwe High School, which, according to sources, was under unexplained circumstances.
A fellow staff member at Milton High, speaking under condition of anonymity, expressed frustration over internal pressure to remain silent about the situation. “We were warned not to speak about this, but keeping quiet allows abuse to continue. Many believe more victims will come forward,” the source said.
The Ministry reiterated its commitment to safeguarding learners. “Any breach of the trust placed in educators is met with the strongest possible action,” Mr. Ndoro added.
This incident marks the third report in under three months involving alleged inappropriate conduct between teachers and students.
In separate cases, a female trainee teacher at Townsend High was removed over accusations of improper relationships with learners, while Anymore Gumbo, deputy head of Masase High School, is currently wanted by police for allegedly abusing more than 35 pupils.
