Meet Rumeysa Gelgi, the World’s Tallest Woman at 7 Feet 0.7 Inches

TURKEY- Rumeysa Gelgi, a 26-year-old Turkish woman, holds the Guinness World Records title as the tallest woman in the world.

Standing at 7 feet 0.7 inches, Gelgi’s extraordinary height is attributed to a rare genetic condition called Weaver syndrome.

The condition has caused significant physical challenges, including scoliosis, which limits her ability to sit for extended periods.

Despite these obstacles, Gelgi has turned her stature into a platform for advocacy, promoting awareness of rare conditions and championing diversity.

She is also a public speaker and a self-taught front-end web developer, having earned global certifications while completing her education through homeschooling.

Gelgi’s accomplishments highlight her resilience and determination to inspire others.

In September 2022, Gelgi achieved a major milestone when CNN reported on her first-ever flight.

Turkish Airlines made special arrangements by removing several seats, allowing her to travel comfortably on a stretcher for the 13-hour journey from Istanbul to California.

Gelgi expressed her gratitude to the airline, describing the experience as a turning point in her life and the fulfillment of her lifelong dream.

Following her six-month stay in the United States, Gelgi continues to look ahead with optimism.

She plans to explore more of the world, demonstrating that determination, coupled with support, can overcome even the tallest obstacles.
