Mbappé Matches Ronaldo’s Early Madrid Firepower With Record-Breaking Start
Kylian Mbappé’s blistering start to the 2025/26 season has thrust him into direct comparison with Real Madrid legends, as the French forward continues to light up the Santiago Bernabéu with his goal-scoring exploits.
The 26-year-old, who arrived in Madrid in 2024, has netted nine goals in his opening seven fixtures this season equaling Cristiano Ronaldo’s best-ever return in the same span during his glittering spell with Los Blancos.
Mbappé, who fired 44 goals last term, struck twice against Levante on Tuesday night to secure his third brace of the campaign.

Only Mallorca have managed to keep him quiet so far, underlining his lethal consistency at the start of the Xabi Alonso era.
Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, hit the same nine-goal mark in his first seven outings twice but never surpassed it, making Mbappé’s streak a feat of historical significance.
The Frenchman’s tally is also a sharp rise from the five goals he managed at this stage last season.
While Ronaldo still holds Madrid’s single-season scoring record of 61 goals in 2014/15, Mbappé’s early form suggests he could mount a serious challenge as he chases both individual milestones and his first silverware with the Spanish giants.
