Man Who Donated Kidney To Lover’s Mom, Refused Money Says She Later Dumped Him

At only 23 years old, Ediwn has been through so much, one would think that he has lived through four lifetimes. In 2020, Edwin had just left high school and started his first job as a driving instructor when he met his girlfriend.

Despite her being older than him, she approached him for a relationship and he gave in.

“We knew each other for like two weeks before we started dating, and I remember she was four years older than me.It is a good thing when a lady admits that she loves you,” he said on Tuko Talks.

“We dated for a few months and I started doing my music professionally. She did my video very well, professionally,” he added.  The hip hop artist and producer said that only two weeks later, she told him that her mother was sick and had been unwell for five months.

When they went to see her at the hospital, a doctor told Ediwin that the older woman’s kidneys had collpased and she had been in that situation for five months.If she didnt get a transplant she would die.

“I knew I was not related to them so I was confident when I went for those tests. Doctor came, looked at me, looked at the mother and finally said, we have found a match. My girlfirend told me please do this for my mum,” he said.

“I knew my mum would never agree to it and I thought since Iam an adult with an ID, I would do it. I thought, since the whole family knows me and if I do that sacrifice for them it’s like you have been given a wife for free, he said on February 20.

Since Edwin’s girlfriend comes from a rich family, Edwin also thought he would also benefit from the riches. Before the operation, he was offered KSh 8 million.      “Take this KSh 2million and there can never be a relationship betwen you and my daughter. I thought if i take the money the lady would see that she was doing it for the money,” he said.

“When people say love is blind I think they were referring to me. I refused the money and I took the girl,” he added.   After the operation, Edwin stayed in hospital for two weeks and was finally discharged.They went to have coffee with his girlfiends and her brother and it was then that she dropped the bombshell to him.

“She told me my boyfriend is at the airport. Sorry to tell you this but we had been dating for five years and now he is at the airport from abroad,” she said.

“He was supposed to come in February but because of COVID-19, he couldn’t and we were supposed to drop you here,” she added.

So Edwin left a dejected man upon a boda boda as he feared people would have seen him crying in a matatu.  The only explanation she gave was that she was caught in between two men and she couldn’t leave her man.

The lady revealed that she was in love with her boyfriend and could not let him go because he had been with her through thick and thein.

“After I talked to her, the boyfriend called me and said that he heard what I had done and was ready to leave her,” said the music producer. At work, Ediwn was transfered to Rongai because he had missied work for two weeks but there no clients there since it was a lonely place.

He didnt have a leg to stand on since he could not get the money anymore from his girlffriend’s people as they claimed they had used it all up in the two operations.  Since he had already signed he could not have her arrestd or anything.

He started turning yellow because he had lost alot of blood and sometimes his wound would come apart whenever he strained at work.  Edwin tried to take away his life using 400 pills and within two weeks.

To add salt to injury, his phone stolen from his pocket on a Monday and by Wednesay, his sister told him people were saying that he was dead.the six came and told Edwin that he had been reported dead.

“All my social media announced that I was dead. My lover was the one who had taken the photo that was used on the post as she was the only one who had it,” said Edwin.

“Under the cause of death was overdosing on meds as most people thought I was depressed. I joined a Whatsapp link that was there for the funeral and in there I learnt that I had died on a Thursday and was supposed to be buried on a Wednesday,” he said.

People mourned Edwin and he could not believe it when he saw one of his best frends claiming that he was faking his death to fundraise money for studio time.

“He came up with another story that I had faked my death so that my girfirend in high school can come back to me,” he said.

“The reason I believed that there is no friend. I expericed cyberbillying that time; I already had depression and it got to a point I tried taking my won life 10 times and my family didn’t know,” he added.  After two weeks police came back at his workplace and arrested him for robbery with violence.

” I was wearing a very light t-shirt and trouser; I was thrown in jail for stealing KSh 120, 000 according to the statement by the accuser. But police said he stole KSh 100, 000,” he added.

“I was in cell from a Thrusday to Sunday and on the following Monday, I took others to court they got senced and I came back. I wasn’t given a chance to call my people,” he said.

At some point, there was talk of going to dump him in the forest by the policemen. Edwin was in jail for a month and he never saw outside for one and half month.

“I stayed in cell for two months and when my mum and boss came they were told I was among illuminati. My mum agreed and my boss paid KSh 75, 000 which was later deducted from my salary,” he said.He gave an interview to a local YoUTuber but when he trended he was kidanpped with an SUV but was later thrown out at a police road block.

When the police gave him fare he went back home and attempted to take his life again. He was given 48 hours for the YouTuber to remove it but he never did.  Edwin has moved to move from place to placee trying to run away from his tormentor who wondered if he has not had enough after his interview trended.

In the process of looking for revenge he made some very bad mistakes that reduced his life expecetancy.

“My other kidney is ruined and there is a chance that if I get to to 27 years, my life will be over. Even if I get a transplant I may not even get to 30 years old,” he said.      “Although I have found people to help me, I don’t have the documenst to sue them.

Everyday I wake up I say wish was I dead. I think my whole purpose of living is done; I have impacted many people,” he said.
