Man Shoots Ex-Fiancée After She Ends Engagement

A Florida man, Timothy Hyder, is facing first-degree murder charges after allegedly shooting his ex-fiancée, Natalie “Dawn” Du’Mee, in the head following her decision to end their engagement.

The tragic incident occurred on December 1 in St. Cloud. According to police, the couple returned home from a party where Du’Mee, 58, had handed back her engagement ring and reaffirmed her decision not to marry. Shortly after midnight, Hyder retrieved a gun from a closet, confronted Du’Mee, and allegedly shot her after confirming she was serious about calling off the engagement. Du’Mee’s daughter, who was home at the time, reported hearing gunshots before finding her mother gravely injured. Hyder reportedly confessed to the act, stating, “It’s over, I blew her brains out,” and instructed the daughter to call 911.

Hyder, 50, admitted remorse when police arrived but was arrested and booked the same day. Investigations are ongoing.
