Man arrested after found with dagga hidden in lunchbox
A 23-YEAR-OLD man from Makokoba suburb in Bulawayo has been arrested for possession of 94 grammes of da.gga, which was found hidden in a lunchbox.
Michael Sibanda appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Maxwell Ncube facing a charge of unlawful possession or use of dangerous dru.gs.
He pleaded guilty to the charge and was remanded in custody to Tuesday for sentencing.
The court heard that on 15 November detectives from CID Drugs and Narcotics section in Bulawayo received information that Sibanda was in possession of drugs at his home in Makokoba.
The detectives swiftly acted on the information, and proceeded to the given address and found Sibanda seated outside and they identified themselves.
They conducted a search in the house and recovered loose dagga which was wrapped in a black plastic bag hidden in a white lunchbox that was kept in the kitchen.
Sibanda was arrested and the dagga was seized and taken to Bulawayo Post Office where it was weighed. The street value of the drugs is $200,000. B Metro
