Limpopo Woman Arrested for Allegedly Running a ‘Prison’ at Her Home – A 54-year-old woman from NkowaNkowa in South Africa’s Limpopo Province has been arrested for allegedly operating an illegal detention facility at her home.

According to reports, the woman — who runs a local tavern — is accused of locking up patrons who became violent while intoxicated or failed to settle their bills.

Authorities say she began operating the makeshift “prison” on 2 December 2025.

Investigations reveal that she allegedly detained at least 36 individuals, including customers who drank without paying and others who reportedly owed her money.

She is also said to have confined men who were accused of assaulting women at the tavern.

Police have since opened a case, and the woman is expected to appear in court as investigations continue.
