Landlord damages tenant’s car over water

A 63-YEAR-OLD man from Morningside suburb in Bulawayo has appeared in court facing charges of allegedly damaging his tenant’s car.

John Kasarawa appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Nomagugu Maphosa facing charges of malicious damage to property.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge and was remanded out of custody to 22 August for trial.

Circumstances are that on 23 May and at around 9am at Belmont Industrial area Karasawa (65) and his tenant Matthew Lowe (35) had a misunderstanding over water.

It is reported that at the height of the misunderstanding Karasawa went on to violently kick his tenant s’ car, a Toyota Tazz, and in the process he damaged its head lamp on the left side and went away.

The value of the destroyed head lamp is US$60.

Lowe went and reported the matter to the police leading to the arrest of Kasarawa.
