KZN Couple Says ‘I Do’ in Snow-Covered Wedding
A couple from Ladysmith, KwaZulu-Natal, exchanged vows in an extraordinary snow-covered ceremony this past weekend, transforming their special day into a rare South African “white wedding.”
Several regions, including KZN, the Eastern Cape, and the Free State, were blanketed in snow, yet the unexpected weather didn’t stop the couple from proceeding with their nuptials at the Thandana Wedding and Conference Venue.
The picturesque snow served as the perfect backdrop for the ceremony, adding a magical touch to the occasion.
Wedding planner “Weddings by Rose” took to social media to share stunning images of the bride, groom, and their bridal party walking through the snow.
The planner posted on Facebook, “Who says you can’t have a wedding in snow in Ladysmith… Sneak peek of today’s wedding.”
The bride, wearing a snow-white gown, radiated joy despite the cold, with temperatures in Ladysmith dropping to 3°C, according to AccuWeather.
The bridesmaids and groomsmen, dressed in shades of blue, contrasted beautifully with the winter landscape as they strolled through the snow.
The unique event captivated social media users, with the post receiving over 23,000 likes and more than 800 shares. Many expressed amazement at the once-in-a-lifetime wedding setting.
