Kwekwe Primary School Unveils New Classroom Block and Sports Arena

KWEKWE Primary School has marked a significant milestone with the launch of a new classroom block and a state-of-the-art multi-purpose sports arena, achieved through collaboration with local communities.
For years, families in Newtown, Msasa, and surrounding areas faced challenges due to inadequate classroom space, often limiting students to just a few hours of lessons each day. The new facilities are set to alleviate congestion, extend learning opportunities, and enhance both academics and sports.
The community has largely embraced this investment as a timely solution to ongoing issues.
“A key aspect of this project aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4, which focuses on ensuring quality, inclusive, and equitable education for all,” noted a community member.
“We appreciate that the Second Republic is fulfilling its commitments and prioritizing development for every community. This initiative will undoubtedly address the challenges students have faced,” added a student.

A parent stated, “This initiative supports the government’s Heritage-based Education model, encouraging practical learning. If a child struggles academically, they can excel in sports, which can deter mischief. Our school has taken commendable steps to enhance the learning environment.”
The government has lauded this development, emphasizing the importance of improving school infrastructure to boost educational outcomes.
“Creating an environment that emphasizes modern technology and skills prepares our students to be informed, innovative citizens. As we support this infrastructure development, we lay the groundwork for a brighter future for our learners,” said Honourable Owen Ncube, Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution.
